  Silver & Gold Star Awards Award Applications Due: June 20,2024 *Applications must be submitted in person at the Gillespie County Extension Office or via email to Emily Grant (emily.grant@ag.tamu.edu) or Fiona Gideon (fiona.gideon@ag.tamu.edu) Silver Star Award: A 4-H Silver Star Award is the highest award that a Junior-aged 4-Her can receive in Gillespie County. Individuals who have demonstrated active involvement in 4-H projects and activities will be awarded the Silver Star Award. The award will be presented to the most deserving young people with no regard to gender at the County Awards Program. A person can only receive this award once! The following requirements must be met: 1.     The applicant must have completed the 6 th , 7 th , or 8 th  grade in the 2023-2024 school year and must have completed at least 2 years in 4-H including the current year. 2.     Applicant must submit a 4-H Project Record Form or Reco...

County Council Applications Extended Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, May 24, 2023 *Applications must be submitted in person at the Gillespie County Extension Office or via email to Emily Grant (emily.grant@ag.tamu.edu) or Fiona Gideon (fiona.gideon@ag.tamu.edu) Due to Gillespie County Council Applications deadline falling on an incredibly hectic week for Gillespie County Youth we will be re-opening and extending the deadline for applications till May 24th at 5 p.m.! Applications that are submitted during this extension will only be eligible for the 2 lowest offices. Record Books & Project Forms County Record book Entry Deadline: June 1, 2024  *Youth entering a record book at district you must let us know by June 1st what category you are planning on submitting your book in* Entry online using google form:   Record Book Entry form Gillespie 4-H members will need to declare what category they would like to enter their record book in prior to June 1st. Gillespie 4-H can only enter 1 record book in each category at the district level per age division. Our goal is to submit as many books as we can to the district contest. Categories that have more than 1 Gillespie 4-H member per age division will be reviewed and if possible moved so all record books can advance to the district level. If it is not possible to switch categories - record books will be judged on the county level.
