2023 Silver & Gold Star Awards

  Silver & Gold Star Awards Award Applications Due: June 23, 2023 *Applications must be submitted in person at the Gillespie County Extension Office or via email to Emily Grant (emily.grant@ag.tamu.edu) or Fiona Gideon (fiona.gideon@ag.tamu.edu) Silver Star Award: A 4-H Silver Star Award is the highest award that a Junior-aged 4-Her can receive in Gillespie County. Individuals who have demonstrated active involvement in 4-H projects and activities will be awarded the Silver Star Award. The award will be presented to the most deserving young people with no regard to gender at the County Awards Program. A person can only receive this award once! The following requirements must be met: 1.     The applicant must have completed the 6 th , 7 th , or 8 th  grade in the 2022-2023 school year and must have completed at least 2 years in 4-H including the current year. 2.     Applicant must submit a 4-H Project Record Form or Record book the year he/she is to be considered for the award. 3.  

2023 - 2024 County Council Applications Extended

County Council Applications Extended Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, May 24, 2023 *Applications must be submitted in person at the Gillespie County Extension Office or via email to Emily Grant (emily.grant@ag.tamu.edu) or Fiona Gideon (fiona.gideon@ag.tamu.edu) Due to Gillespie County Council Applications deadline falling on an incredibly hectic week for Gillespie County Youth we will be re-opening and extending the deadline for applications till May 24th at 5 p.m.! Applications that are submitted during this extension will only be eligible for the 2 lowest offices. Record Books & Project Forms County Record book Entry Deadline: June 1, 2023  *Youth entering a record book at district you must let us know by June 1st what category you are planning on submitting your book in* Record book Drafts Due to Emily: June 12th  District Record books due: June 26 - 30th  *Emily will work with youth individually to revise and get their district record books completed by June 30th. ALL books will be due June 30th.  What is a Project Form or Record book?  Record books and project forms allow you to record your activities so you can remember all the fun you have had in 4-H so far, along with set future goals! Keeping records of 4-H projects can help you when applying for college scholarships, complete school applications and your resume!
