STEM Ambassadors

Mission

As STEM Ambassadors, our mission is to educate communities about science, technology, engineering, and math opportunities; both inside and outside of 4-H, while learning essential skills in STEM, communication, and teamwork.

Applicants will need to create a simple profile on "Submittable" to complete the application.   The application requires (among other details) several written narratives, a 2–3-minute personal video narrative, as well as two letters of recommendations.  Candidates are encouraged to begin work on the latter two as soon as possible.  

 Eligibility for New Members

  • A Texas 4-H member entering the 9th – 12th grade (as of September 1, 2023).
  • Complete and submit the application by July 31, 2023. 
  • Have a willingness to learn about and promote STEM.
  • Attend a mandatory virtual orientation along with his/her parents/guardians on August 29 at 7 PM.
  • Attend the mandatory fall and spring in-person meetings (dates will be listed in the application).
  • Be willing to work collaboratively on a team with other youth and adults.
  • Be responsive and engaged in team communications.
  • Share knowledge and skills with others.
  • Not serving on the 2023-24 Texas 4-H Council.
  • Applications will be reviewed in early August and applicants notified by the 25th.

West Texas Fair & Rodeo Livestock Entries

West Texas Fair & Rodeo have released their junior livestock show entry forms. Please see below for links to the entry forms, rules, and their website. Entries are due to the Extension Office by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27th.

The Outdoor Learning Center and TTU Center at Junction is excited to offer “Conservation Leaders: A Nature Adventure For Girls”! Girls from grades 5th to 12th can join us July 27th for an empowering day of outdoor naturalist activities, inspired by female scientists and conservationists! 🌳 TEXAS A&M FOREST SERVICE CONTEST 🌳
Texas A&M Forest Service is hosting a Smokey Bear Poster Contest for youth in Texas to celebrate Smokey's 80th birthday! 🎉
They plan to use the winning designs in the 2024 calendar. There is a flyer for the contest and some additional information. Click below to find out more! Encourage your youth to participate in the contest!




Meat Judging Camp Registration is now available online!



Please be aware that if your animal has a tattoo issue prior to the shows, that we must retattoo them 3 weeks prior to the show. We recommend setting a reminder on your phone or putting it on your calendar to check tattoos around Christmas time.

4-H Spotlight

 Congratulations to our D10 Record Book competitors! We had a good number of entries this year & we couldn't have asked for a better results!!! Four of our senior 4-H members, Ethan Marschall, James Jenschke, Brylie Roeder & Jace Raab have all advanced to State!
