2024-2025 Texas 4-H Council At Large Delegates

The 2024-2025 Texas 4-H Council – At Large Delegate Applications are now available online  Deadline to apply is March 28, 2024Members of Texas 4-H Council are elected by their peers from across the state of Texas, representing the twelve AgriLife Extension districts plus an additional six At-Large Delegates. The Texas 4-H Council members serve as ambassadors for the Texas 4-H program. Members represent the organization statewide while collaborating with Extension faculty to plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities and events. 







All High Schools in Gillespie County are welcome to attend this job and career fair! We hope to see everyone there!

 



The Buccaneer Commission in Corpus Christi, Texas, will be hosting an invitational Food Challenge May 11, 2024. The event will be hosted on Buc Days Festival grounds in the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall where $7,500 will be awarded in prize money.






Hotel room block information for Texas 4-H Roundup 2024 is now available! Don't wait to book your rooms, contact the hotels now. Roundup will be held in Bryan/College Station June 3-6. 

 Note: Some hotels were only able to offer us a limited number of rooms at the rates noted. Embassy Suites sold out of their block of double rooms within the first hour, but had some King Suites still available at the rates noted. If you call them direct, they may be able to offer doubles, if available, but they will be at a higher rate. We do compete with other events such as New Student Conference in the early part of the week.

The Texas 4-H Water Ambassadors are hosting the first-ever Lone Star 4-H Splash Camp (water camp) at the Texas 4-H Center April 26-28. This event is open to 6th-8th grade students. Registration opens February 5 on the Texas 4-H Conference Center website. Youth will be involved in project-based learning and lots of fun water activities! Registration is $210 per student, which includes two nights' lodging, meals, a camp t-shirt, a camp water bottle, and all workshops and programming. 

Save the date to register beginning February 5th! 




The Texas Farm Bureau Student Success Series Engage Program is for current freshmen and sophomores in high school. Participants will learn more about TFB, engage with community leaders in agriculture and western industries, gain insight into the free enterprise system, and tour a local agricultural operation. This program will take place in each of the 13 TFB Districts

4-H Spotlight

This week's spotlight goes to the Gillespie County Dairy Judging Junior and Senior Teams. They did amazing in Fort worth! A special shout out to Bryson Denton, who was also the overall high point winner!!! Our dairy judging kids work  really hard and it definitely pays off! Congratulations to all of them!
