Steer & Heifer
Validation
- June 25
at Schneider Brahmans from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
- We have
a limited number of extra steer & heifer tags! Contact the office
ASAP, if you want an extra!
- If you
have a heifer, we are required to upload each registration certificate, so
you can either email certificates to tiffany.ahrens@ag.tamu.edu or
bring them to the Extension Office. Note: BOTH sides of the registration
papers should be scanned and emailed.
Quality Counts is an online
program designed to teach youth to have high standards in caring for their
livestock. The program focuses on displaying good character while working
with livestock. This number is required for ALL stock show entries (county AND
major stock shows). Quality Counts must be completed at each grade
level division (junior – grades 3-5, intermediate – grades 6-8, senior
– grades 9-12). It does not have to be renewed every year.

Sheep Capital Lamb & Goat Camp to be held in San Angelo, Texas July 26 –
July 28, 2024.
4-H Spotlight
Last week 4-Hers traveled around Texas with CORE Academy, which provides high school youth an opportunity to learn about a diverse global economy and post-secondary degree institutions across the state. Greyson Crenwelge is pictured below with other participants, touring the Mueller fabrication plant. Attendees also toured San Angelo State, Tarleton, The Game Warden Academy, and several other businesses over a full week.
