Steer & Heifer Validation

  • June 19 at Gillespie Vet Center from 5:45-7:00 p.m.
  • June 25 at Schneider Brahmans from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
  • We have a limited number of extra steer & heifer tags! Contact the office ASAP, if you want an extra!
  • If you have a heifer, we are required to upload each registration certificate, so you can either email certificates to tiffany.ahrens@ag.tamu.edu or bring them to the Extension Office. Note: BOTH sides of the registration papers should be scanned and emailed.




Sheep & Goat Validation

  • June 20 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-6:30 p.m. at the Gillespie County Extension Office
  • We ordered plenty of extra tags! PLEASE BRING any sheep and goats you have on feed that you plan on showing at a 2024 major!
  • If you have a breeding sheep and/or goat, we are required to upload each registration certificate, so you can either email certificates to tiffany.ahrens@ag.tamu.edu or bring them to the Extension Office. Note: BOTH sides of the registration papers should be scanned and emailed.




The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office in Tom Green county are proud to present the 2024 Sheep Capital Lamb & Goat Camp to be held in San Angelo, Texas July 26 – July 28, 2024.

 The camp will be open to incoming 3rd Graders through Seniors in high school, and exhibitors of all levels of experience are welcome to participate.

 *New this year we are adding goats to the camp.  Space is limited to the first 50 lamb and 30 goat entries.*

 Camp will be a three-day program, kicking off on Friday, July 26, with registration that morning, and the clinic starting shortly after Noon. Saturday will be a full day of clinic information, and hands on experience for the showman. Sunday will wrap things up with a showmanship contest for the age divisions, and an awards program wrapping up just after lunch!

 The registration fee will include breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and lunch Saturday and Sunday, a t-shirt, and a camp packet.
